In Blizzard's notes
What Blizzard said about Dual Wield Specialization, each line checked against the files.
- Matches the files
Fixed a bug that was causing Dual Wield Specialization to grant its increase to Hit Chance to both weapons.
Developers' note: Because of the above bug, our tests needed some correcting, so we did another pass on Fury Warrior.
The files The Oct 2 server hotfix (read from the 70245 client cache) turned Dual Wield Specialization's (23584) hit effect (aura 54, 2 to 10%) into a dummy, so it gives no hit to either hand; off-hand hit moved to Furious Precision, which requires an off-hand weapon.
- Changed since
Dual Wield Specialization no longer provides a 20/40/60/80/100% increase to your Off-Hand weapon's Rage generation.
The files Build 70170 removed it (the 'off-hand Rage generation' effect on its 20/40/60/80/100 curve 111755). The Oct 2 server hotfix (read from the 70245 client cache) brought it back at half strength: the tooltip again says 'the Rage generated by your off-hand attacks' and curve 111755 now reads 10/20/30/40/50.
- Matches the files
Dual Wield Specialization no longer grants hit to your off-hand attacks.
The files The Oct 2 server hotfix (read from the 70245 client cache) changed Dual Wield Specialization's (23584) second effect from hit chance (aura 54) to a dummy and rewrote its tooltip to off-hand damage and off-hand Rage.
- Changed since
Warriors’ Dual Wield Specialization is granting both your Main hand and Off-hand 2/4/6/8/10% hit chance. It should only be granted to your Off-hand.
The files In 70170 Dual Wield Specialization's (23584) hit effect was a plain hit chance aura (54, 2 to 10%) with no weapon restriction, which fits the bug. The Oct 2 server hotfix (read from the 70245 client cache) removed it, and off-hand hit now comes from Furious Precision.
- Not in the files
Fixed a bug that was causing Dual Wield Specialization to grant its increase to Hit Chance to both weapons.
The files Which weapons got the hit bonus was server behavior. In 70245 it no longer applies: the hotfix turns the DWS hit effect (aura 54) into a dummy, so the talent grants no hit at all.
- Matches the files
Dual Wield Specialization no longer grants hit to your off-hand attacks.
The files The hit effect (aura 54, 10%) becomes a dummy in the 70245 hotfix, and the tooltip offers off-hand damage and Rage instead (spell 23584).
- Changed since
Dual Wield Specialization: Now also increases chance to hit with off-hand weapons.
The files In 70170 it added 2-10% off-hand hit (aura 54). The Oct 2 update removed that: in the 70245 hotfix the effect is a dummy and the tooltip offers off-hand Rage instead (spell 23584).
